The drawings shown above are the first three in a series I am currently developing in addition to my main body of work. This new series is concerned with cult leaders and the personae they assume as a means to gain control over those who believe the things they say. Of particluar interest to me is the amount of information about these individuals' sanity that can be ascertained from the gaze. I do not intend to pass judgment on these individuals or their followers. Instead, I see this work as a vehicle for raising questions about the moral nature of the actions taken by those whose beliefs have led to tragic outcomes.

Drawing Featured in Quarterly Publication

Check out my drawing, Untitled 2, in the Winter issue of Drawing Magazine from American Artist. The article is a survey of how artists utilize interior spaces to convey meaning about personal and public narratives and memory. The author is Kenneth J. Procter, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Georgia College and State University. Thanks, Ken!
