Artist's Statement

My work is a visual extrapolation of how I remember my surroundings. I am interested in how one space induces the thought of another in the act of remembering or imagining.

Atmospheric qualities of multiple spaces coalesce with each other through a series of graphite marks in these drawings. The architectural and natural imagery takes on a sense of purity in its reluctance to indicate a specific location. The elusive nature of this imagery enables each drawing to function as a composite of experiences in real and imagined spaces.
